Welcome to The Update, a site made by fans, for fans. We’re not journalists. We don’t have media passes or press conferences to attend. We’re just a bunch of sports and screen-obsessed fans who decided to make a website instead of yelling into the void (though we still do that, too)
Yes, football is our religion (mostly Premier League, sorry darts fans), but we’ll happily chat cricket, tennis, F1, or any activity that involves a ball, a racket, or someone getting sent off. Think of us as your group chat on matchday – passionate, occasionally chaotic, but always on point.
And when the final whistle blows? We’re onto the next obsession. Binge-watching Netflix? Yep. Cinema marathons? Standard. Our founder has been reading Empire Magazine religiously since the ‘90s and once cried during The Dark Knight Rises. (Ed – I have allergies. It was dusty) – naturally, we’ve got an entire section devoted to film and TV. Expect opinions, lists, rants, and the occasional spoiler warning (or not, depending on our mood)
The Team
Right now, we’re a small but chaotic crew of fans who love shouting into the void. The site was launched by someone who once built a spreadsheet ranking every MCU film by emotional damage. Naturally, things escalated into a full-blown website.
You’ll meet writers like The Arsenal Addict and The Red Devil Ranter, who turn football rivalry into fine art (or at least a very entertaining meltdown). More voices will join soon – ranting, reviewing, reacting in real time as the sporting and streaming world unfolds
How we’re going to cover all of this? Honestly, no clue. But that’s the fun of it. We’re building this as we go – improvising, debating, creating. And we want you on the ride.
